Hi! I’m Elisa — an Italian-American born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida. My first language is English, and I began learning Spanish at a young age, thanks to the multicultural environment of South Florida and the language’s early presence in school. That early exposure sparked a lifelong passion for languages and cross-cultural communication.
As a child, my father spoke to me in Italian, but later transitioned to English to improve his own fluency. Although he stopped speaking Italian consistently, that early exposure gave me a strong foundation in Latin-based languages. It helped me develop an intuitive grasp of pronunciation, grammar rules, and linguistic patterns — making my transition into Spanish feel natural and deeply familiar.
I’m currently working toward my Level 5 TEFL certification, which will further support my ability to teach English to non-native speakers with clarity and structure. I’ve always had a love for language — especially grammar — and a fascination with the etymology of words and the evolution of language over time. I enjoy bringing a cultural and historical lens into my teaching, helping students understand the “why” behind the words they learn.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from Florida State University, majoring in Management with a minor in Spanish. I spent six months studying abroad in Valencia, Spain, and later moved to Miami to complete an accelerated master’s program, where I continued to sharpen my Spanish through full immersion.
Professionally, I worked as an International Sales, Logistics, and Customer Service Manager for a U.S.-based air manufacturer, managing business throughout Latin America. I’ve traveled extensively across Central and South America, building real-world communication skills and a deep appreciation for cultural nuance.
Outside of work, I’m a passionate solo traveler who’s visited over 40 countries across 5 continents — and made lifelong friends along the way. I’m also very family-oriented, and when I’m not teaching or working on my business, you’ll usually find me out on a hike, enjoying the beach, diving into music or art, shopping, reading something inspiring, or out for a run.
I'm approachable, adventurous, and deeply committed to helping others grow through language. Whether you’re learning English or Spanish, I’d love to support your journey — and I truly look forward to meeting you!
